A Witch must always protect his or her home. There are many ways to do that, but one of my favorite ways is with a Witch's Ball. Witch Balls are decorative and fun to make. Hang a Witch Ball in the window to protect from negative spirits. They can also be made to attract energies to your home such as peace, love, balance, and harmony.
Witch Balls can be made with a variety of different items. Clear glass ornaments are available at stores such as Hobby Lobby, Michael's and Wal-Mart. The items used inside the ball will depend on your intent for the ball. A few examples are: protection herbs, dried flowers, thorns, nails, crystal chip stones, love drawing herbs, cinnamon sticks, small items found in nature, or feathers. You may want to add sigils, symbols, or other decoration to the outside of the ball. Colored fabric paint and glitter glue work great for this. Once you have all the items you desire (a small funnel may help in filling the ball), use hot glue to secure the top on the ball. Twine, jute cord, leather cord, or yarn are a few items that can be used to hang the ball. Add a charm if you desire. The possibilities are endless. Use your intuition and imagination, and don't forget to have fun.
